Protecting What Matters Most

At FCCU, we treat your financial safety with the same care we would offer our own families. Fraud can strike unexpectedly, but with the right information and a team you trust behind you, you're not alone.

This page is here to help you stay informed, spot scams, and take action confidently. If you ever have concerns about your account or notice something suspicious, our contact information is listed on the right for fast, direct help.

How We Help Protect You

Your FCCU debit and credit cards are monitored for unusual activity. If something does not look right, you may receive a text or automated call asking you to confirm a recent transaction.

If you receive one of these alerts:

  • Respond promptly to confirm or deny the charge.

  • If you do not recognize the transaction, your card may be temporarily blocked for your protection.

  • If you are unsure whether a message or call is legitimate, refer to the contact information in the sidebar and reach out directly.

Common Scams to Watch For

Each of the scams below includes simple ways to protect yourself. Click to learn more.

  • Scammers may send messages that appear to come from FCCU, asking you to verify account details or click a link.

How to protect yourself: FCCU will never ask for your PIN or online banking credentials through text. If you receive a message like this, do not click any links or respond with personal information.

  • Fraudsters may call claiming to be from a financial institution, utility company, or even a government agency.

How to protect yourself: Never provide personal or account details over the phone unless you initiated the call. If you are unsure, hang up and use the number in the sidebar to contact FCCU directly.

  • These emails may look official and ask you to update your password or log in to a fake website.

How to protect yourself: Look closely at the sender's email address, avoid clicking links, and access your account only through our website. When in doubt, contact us for guidance.

  • You may receive a call or pop-up claiming your computer has a virus. The caller will ask for remote access.

How to protect yourself: Never give someone remote access to your device unless you initiated the request. Shut down your device and seek help from a trusted local technician.

  • These scams often start with a new relationship online, leading to requests for money or personal information.

How to protect yourself: Be wary of anyone asking for money, gift cards, or sensitive information, especially if you have not met them in person.

  • You may be drawn in by a deal that seems too good to be true, or never receive what you paid for.

How to protect yourself: Shop only on secure, reputable websites. Use payment methods that offer fraud protection and verify reviews before you buy. Make sure to examine the website URL closely. Scammers often create fake sites with addresses that look nearly identical to real ones, but may include subtle misspellings or extra characters.
